Project Background

Cantel Medical, a global leader in infection prevention products and services, approached Valtira for a comprehensive redesign and re-architecture of their website. The project's goal was to integrate various properties and recent acquisitions into a unified corporate website. This initiative aimed to advance brand recognition, boost sales, and ensure a consistent user experience for all visitors.

Needs and Challenges

Cantel sought a platform that would allow for easy integration of affiliate websites and support their broader corporate strategy. A key component of the website was to not only market products but also provide detailed educational materials for medical staff on product usage and maintenance. These materials required a dynamic asset manager for frequent updates and needed to be accessible and scalable on mobile devices.

My Role in the Project

My responsibilities encompassed several critical areas:

  • Scoping: Defining the project's scope to meet Cantel's strategic goals.

  • UX Research and Strategy: Leading the research to understand user needs and developing a UX strategy that aligned with Cantel's objectives.

  • Visual Design: Guiding the visual design process to ensure an engaging and intuitive user interface.

  • User Interviews and Requirements Collection: Conducting interviews with various user groups and collecting requirements to inform the design and functionality.

  • Enhanced user engagement, leading to increased customer conversions.

  • Improved website performance and user experience.

Discovery Phase

Key stakeholder interviews at Cantel were conducted to gain insights, which were crucial in guiding the design and development phases. We identified several key areas of focus, including the importance of educational content, the need for an efficient document management system, and tools to enhance the customer experience.

User Flows and Wireframes

The design phase involved creating a wireframe prototype that offered a seamless and responsive experience across devices. This included designing 25-page templates, modals, alerts, and small user interaction animations. We created three distinct user paths – for non-logged-in users, logged-in users, and customer users – with tailored content and resources. Recognizing Cantel’s global reach, the navigation incorporated a geography selector for multi-language access.
