Project Background

NutriSource Pet Foods, known for their high-quality pet food products, sought to revamp their online presence with a new WordPress website. The primary objective was to showcase their new brand guidelines effectively. Unlike typical pet food brands, NutriSource emphasizes selling through pet stores rather than direct e-commerce. Consequently, the website was uniquely designed to highlight individual retailers, spotlighting where customers can purchase their products locally.

My Role in the Project

As a key member of the team, my responsibilities spanned several crucial areas:

  • Scoping: I was involved in defining the project's scope, ensuring that the website met NutriSource’s business objectives and brand vision.

  • UX Research: Conducting thorough UX research was essential. This involved understanding the target audience's needs – pet owners looking for quality food for their pets, and how they prefer to shop, particularly focusing on their interactions with local retailers.

  • Creative Direction: I provided the creative direction for the website, ensuring that the new brand guidelines were adhered to and effectively communicated. This included overseeing the visual layout, the user interface design, and the overall user experience of the site.

Given NutriSource’s unique business model, the website was tailored to prioritize information about local retailers. The design included features that made it easy for customers to locate and learn about nearby pet stores carrying NutriSource products. This approach aligned with the brand’s strategy of supporting local businesses and providing customers with a personalized shopping experience.

Outcome

The completed WordPress website successfully embodied NutriSource’s new brand guidelines while catering to their retail-focused sales approach. The site offers an intuitive, informative, and user-friendly experience, encouraging pet owners to engage with the brand and directing them to their nearest retail outlets. The project highlights my ability to craft a digital experience that aligns with a client’s unique brand strategy and business goals.
